About Our Speaker

Philippe has over 20 years experience in business development and marketing.  His experiences span a wide variety of industries from consumer product to financial services to aerospace in domestic and international markets

If social media as we know it is new, his foray into social media is not.  Early on in his career he developed skills and a business approach very similar to the social media principles we know and apply today.

Ten years ago, he applied these very skills to a new division and product of a well known sporting good company developing sales from $1.5M to $5M.  That was long before social networks existed.  He now consults with small and medium size businesses as well as non profits on business development to help them leverage social media and integrate the discipline in their traditional marketing strategy.

In addition,  Philippe has been volunteering with two non profits helping job seekers update their job search skills and delivers workshops teaching how to leverage LinkedIN for job search and business development.

Philippe holds a BA in Business Management from the University of Valenciennes in France

Pre-Clinic (30 minutes = 0.15 RU's)

Kim Niles (ASQ Officer & Fellow, MSQA, CSQE, CQE, CSSMBB/BB) will cover part 5 of his pre-clinic series on "How to Succeed in Quality".  Nominal group techniques (NGT) will be used in group exercises.  This month we will review our September NGT results & discuss another related model (related to giving elevator speeches) & question.  So, what does it take to be successful in Quality?  Kim suggests we need to:

  1. Have a Justified Position

    • Related Model #1 = The I-Triad:   Every boss has a different mix of reasons for hiring or keeping someone, which is continuously changing.  Covered Aug.'09 & brainstormed "Have you seen a poorly justified position, perhaps even yours?"

    • Related Model #2 = The Market Leadership Model:  One method for predicting our optimum I-Triad mix relative to shifting company needs based on understanding company needs

  2. Be the Right Fit for That Position

    • Related Model #1 = The Candidate Selection Pugh Matrix Pentagon:  Five metrics commonly used to facilitate judging your fit in the organization.

  3. Meet Everyone's General Expectations

    • Related Model #1 = The XEAM Model:  Understand the differing needs others have of you at work or home.  Those above you, below you, and beside you all have different expectations of you.  Covered May '09 & brainstormed "What does it take to be successful in Quality?"

    • Related Model #2 = The Harvard Business Cultural Tools Model:  Recognize and address subconscious company rules & expectations

  4. Break Barriers in the Way of Progress

    • Related Model #1 = The AAMO Barrier Breaking Model:  Ways of determining the root cause of human situation related barriers in order to break through them.  Covered June '09 & brainstormed "What Barriers Do We Face as Quality Professionals?"
