This Month's Meeting

Our June meeting went well (see details here).  Our July meeting will be as follows:

July 14, 2009

Topic

"20 Keys to Workplace Improvement"

Kenneth Albrecht

kennethmalbrecht@yahoo.com  858-829-5941

30 min. pre-meeting-clinic this month on "The job of getting a job"; led by Geoff Hunt

Abstract

Linking the framework of Strategy Maps, Policy Deployment, Balanced Scorecards, and Actionable Dashboards with the 20 Keys to Workplace Improvement provides a systematic approach to lean manufacturing involving all employees in Improvement Team Activities (Key 3) for the continuous process of improving quality and safety as well as reducing lead times and costs led by certified Six Sigma Black Belts utilizing Project Management.

Examples include: Key 4, Reducing Inventory and Lead Times, using Value Stream Maps to identify and eliminate the root causes of Overproduction (Key 13, Eliminating Wastes) which dovetails with Key 8, Coupled Manufacturing, in linking stable processes established by Key 7, Zero Monitoring, through six sigma defect reduction and Key 11, Time Commitment and Control, via standardized work.
