Abstract

"High performance cells need a reliable source of materials flowing into the cells to realize all of their potential. Traditional Lean Supply Chain tactics may not be providing the performance that the assembly cells need. To break through, Supply Chain Value Stream Management needs to be implemented. This presentation will provide the steps necessary to engage suppliers and achieve a Lean Supply Chain through the use of Supply Chain Value Stream Mapping. Topics that will be covered in this presentation: " Lean Basic tools " Lean Supply Chain starting point " Reality view of Supply Chains " Breakthrough with Supply Chain Value Stream Management o The steps to achieve this will be presented in detail o Expected results will be reviewed " Attendees are encouraged share lessons learned on their own successes and failures with implementing Lean into the supply base.

Biography

Steve Ebbing, Director, Operational Excellence at Cardinal Health and the founder of the ebbing group llc, has over 16 years of manufacturing operations experience, Lean Six Sigma consulting experience and Operational Excellence experience. Steve has held operations positions from Plant Manager, to Director of Manufacturing, to Vice President of Operations of component and systems suppliers. Steve's Continuous Improvement roles include Lean Six Sigma consulting, and currently as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt at Cardinal Health. All of his operations positions have focused on Continuous Improvement through the application of Lean and Six Sigma tools. Steve introduced and implemented Lean and Six Sigma to many of his organizations each with significant success. Steve has a BS and MS in Engineering. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a certified Facilitator Trainer for the USAF AFSO21 Lean Implementation program. He is on the instructor staff at San Diego State University Lean Certificate program, a past Lean instructor at San Diego City College, and he is the Treasurer for the San Diego Chapter of Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Vinod Kumar has also been on the panel of experts in international forums on quality system standards. Vinod Kumar is not only a RABQSA (Registrar Accreditation Board and Quality Society of Australia) Certified Quality System Lead Auditor (QS-LA), RABQSA 'Skill Examiner', RABQSA Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor (EMS-LA) and IPC (International Personnel Certification Association, formerly known as IATCA - International Auditor and Training Certification Association) Lead Auditor, he has also attained the distinction of being recognized as a "Responsible Person and Verifying Auditor" by the IPC/IATCA Executive Panel.
