MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

"E-Board Meeting"

Our board reached an unusual milestone in September ... an on-line board meeting.  Being a quality professional requires us to keep up with the latest in technology in order to be able to facilitate, educate, and improve processes effectively.

We used http://www.gotomeeting.com for the trial.  We were given a conference call number to dial, a meeting ID number, and an access code.

The purpose of this first on-line meeting was proof-of-concept which was successfully achieved.  We did it and it worked for our purposes?

We had to download some software and dial into the call. We used a conference call for an hour but we could have used the chat board also.

We called it a success and plan to try it again in a couple months.

Free Meeting #2

Our board is offering another free dinner to all members that RSVP by Wednesday before our next dinner meeting ... which has past.  However, this is the second announcement so many of you did make that deadline and since this mailer is late, I've asked the board to extend the offer through today.

We are investigating the potential of improving meeting attendance, while lower our costs due to paying for meals based on guessing actual attendance.  RSVP and see more information below and on our meetings page at http://www.asqsandiego.org/meetings.htm.

Re-Starting Workshops

Last month we restarted workshops after two years of not having any.

It went well.  Two hours on basic statistics.  This month will be on DOE.  Sign up now.  See details below.
